Auditive images of ages both long forgotten and ones yet waiting to become reality.
On 'The Distance' Twisted Krister explores new territory as a composer, trying out hazardous techniques like constructing a whole song in a destructive process inside an audio editor or playing in complex sample manipulations in one live take.
The results, at times almost play-like nonverbal narratives paint powerful pictures before the listener. The terrors lurking inside everyman, mythical beasts overtaking the Silicon Valley, something shimmering inside impenetrable blackness, the thoughts of a person who's weirding into something she wasn't before, and many more.
Sonically 'The Distance' operates on a broad scale: from acoustic instruments to digital mirages, from ghosts' whispers behind the ears to immense depths of sea opening before the listener. All these elements melt together into something immediately enganing and listenable, and at the same time something somewhat unnerving, almost too alien to take in.
